She Lies Amongst the Fire Lilies

When Zuko discovers that Katara’s favourite flower is the fire lily, he nervously gives her one on their first date and a whole bouquet when their engagement is announced. He makes sure their wedding is filled to the brim with them and the palace decorated with them for the birth of each of their children. 

When the time comes to say their final farewell, he carefully surrounds her in them, laying his hand atop hers. She smiles a familiar smile—content and at peace—and closes her eyes for the last time.
